Meet the team

Here at Leicester Animal Aid, we live and breathe cats and dogs.

But loving animals is not enough; in addition to giving our cats and dogs the best of everything, we set ourselves high standards for health and wellbeing, enrichment and rehoming.

Click through the photographs below to see some of our staff, volunteers and animals in action.

Professional standards

L.A.A. is part of the Association of Dogs and Cats Homes (ADCH) - a network of rescue and rehoming organisations that meet high standards of animal care and work together to give every lost, abandoned and unwanted dog and cat the care they deserve and the chance of a happy life.

We're also a partner of Battersea.

We are also registered with the Fundraising Regulator and maintain high standards of care for our supporters.

The L.A.A. Team

We have an experienced, highly qualified and professional team. In addition to a wide range of experience of caring for animals, staff qualifications include: MSc in Animal Welfare, BSc in Biology with Animal Behaviour, BSc in Animal Welfare, Dog Behaviour (Level 6), Animal Management qualifications and Diplomas in Animal Care.

Staff regularly attend training sessions to continue to increase their knowledge and expertise.

Our Ambassador

Local hairdressing entrepreneur Barrie Stephen is an Ambassador for L.A.A. and a dedicated fundraiser.  A big animal lover and a well-respected member of the local business community, Barrie has organised many fundraising events, all of which have had his trademark energy and style.

The L.A.A. way

We work hard to help dogs and cats that arrive at the Centre to feel comfortable in their new environment, to build their confidence and to help them get ready for their new home. We ensure that animals at our Centre are loved and cared for, sometimes for the first time in their lives, and that we maintain high standards of animal welfare.
