LAA Business Club Terms and Conditions 

The LAA Business Club is a community of kind and socially responsible businesses that provide vital funding to support Leicester Animal Aid through corporate donations.

We are sincerely grateful for every contribution and the continued support we receive. Your generosity helps us care for cats and dogs at our Centre and enables us to assist local people and their pets.

How to join 

Businesses can join the Business Club in the following ways:

• £500+ per year – donation
• £500+ per year – fundraised
• £500+ per year – gift-in-kind*

* A gift-in-kind is a donation of goods or services valued at £500 or more which has been agreed with Leicester Animal Aid. 

Please note that Business Club Sponsors are not voting Members of the Charity.

If you wish to support the Charity as an individual as a Member, please see our Membership Scheme.

What your donation will support

You have the option to choose what your Business Club donation will fund: 

Leicester Animal Aid  - General

Supporting the work of the LAA as a whole. Unrestricted funding is very valuable to our Charity as it enables us to adapt and tackle challenges as they happen.

Community Pet Support Scheme (CPSS)

Supporting our award winning preventative outreach scheme which supports people with long term physical and mental health conditions and their pets in the local community (The Scheme currently operates in Blaby, Hinckley & Bosworth and Oadby & Wigston).

LAA Veterinary Support Scheme (VSS)

Contributing to the costs of dogs and cats with known health conditions who are living in long term foster homes. Many of these animals find recovery easier in a home environment and may have struggled to find a home without support for their veterinary costs.

LAA Veterinary Care Costs

Contributing towards the veterinary care of animals at our Centre. This fund supports the growing number of animals arriving in need of extensive treatment and helps cover the rising costs of veterinary services. 

"In aid of" Leicester Animal Aid

Please note that all Business Club donations and fundraising activities are made "in aid of" Leicester Animal Aid, rather than "on behalf of" the charity. This distinction must be clearly stated on any promotional or fundraising materials. It ensures transparency by indicating that your company is supporting the charity through donations, but is not acting as an official representative. For further guidance, please refer to the Fundraising Regulator.

Sponsorship of the LAA Business Club represents a generous donation in support of Leicester Animal Aid’s charitable work. It does not imply or establish an official affiliation, endorsement, or partnership between your company and Leicester Animal Aid.

Fundraising and vulnerable people

Leicester Animal Aid has a dedicated policy to ensure that all fundraising activities are conducted ethically and with sensitivity toward vulnerable individuals. All fundraisers must adhere to this policy. Any concerns or incidents relating to vulnerable people must be reported to the Charity’s General Manager and, if necessary, escalated to the Board of Trustees.

"No go" organisations and industries 

Leicester Animal Aid’s mission is to promote the welfare of animals, and we are committed to ethical fundraising practices that reflect our values. As such, there are certain organisations and industry sectors from which we do not accept donations or  LAA Business Club sponsorships. This policy is also reflected in our investment strategy.

There are a number of organisations and industries that LAA will not accept donations from as we believe their work contradict the aims of the Charity. This reflects LAA’s Investment Policy.

“No go” organisations and industries include:

• Animal testing
• Punishment based animal training
• Businesses that create or promote animal training punishment devices (e.g. shock or prong collars)
• Hunting and shooting
• Fur trading
• Intensive farming
• Tobacco

Please note that this list is not exhaustive. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to assess other organisations on a case-by-case basis and may decline donations where a conflict of interest is identified.

Your application to the LAA Business Club will remain pending until reviewed by our office team. If a conflict of interest is determined, your donation will be respectfully returned.

Decision Making

The Leicester Animal Aid Board of Trustees has overall responsibility for decision making and their role is to ensure the best interest of our Charity and those we support.

The Trustees have agreed upon these terms and conditions.  Day-to-day decisions will be made by LAA’s General Manager and LAA’s Fundraising Team and whether they need to be referred to the Trustees.  

Information and advice

Leicester Animal Aid’s policies have been created using advice provided by The Charity Commission and the Fundraising Regulator.

Leicester Animal Aid is registered with the Fundraising Regulator and adheres to the Code of Fundraising Practice. You can learn more about the Fundraising Regulator here and how we follow their code here.
