Ways to support LAA this Christmas
Each Christmas, as part of our Christmas Appeal, every one of our animals receives a lovely gift. If we are lucky to receive enough money to buy gifts for all, the money left over is put towards enrichment. This means that kind supporters will be making the lives of those arriving in 2023 happy, rewarding and fun-packed with items like Kongs, puzzle feeders, ball pools and paddling polls to be shared with friends.

Please note that Just Giving has added a ‘tip’ for their services when you donate through them. If you don’t want to pay this, just open the bit where it asks for the tip, and click ‘enter custom amount’. A pop up saying why they’re asking for a tip will appear - just scroll down on this pop up, delete the tip amount and make sure it says £0.00, then click continue.
Every year, we select a couple of animals to star in our Christmas Appeal and this year the stars are Jingle and Scuttle. These animals have been chosen because they are typical of some of the animals here - average Joe and Joanna's who, although they have oodles of love to give, are often overlooked. We're hoping that through the appeal, they will find homes in time for Christmas.
Gift Memberships
If you have a friend or relative who is hard to buy for, why not treat them to a Gift Membership to L.A.A. for a year? We can arrange for you to receive their Membership gifts in time for the big day. It’s a great way to show that you care about those friends and family who always say they don’t really want or need anything. Find out more here .
Christmas cards and Charity calendars
Christmas cards and 2024 calendars featuring a selection of the animals we worked with in 2023 are on sale at the Centre reception, in our two on-site charity shops and through our website. All proceeds go to helping our cats and dogs. As usual, we have some new Christmas Card designs in stock and they’re great value.
Charity Shops, Cattery Shop and Reception
We have plenty of toys, treats and essential items for your pets in our shops. You can also purchase a treat for one of our animals when you visit or donate to our Christmas Appeal. We will hold a Coffee Shop and Sale on-site here in Huncote, Saturday 2rd December, 10 am to 1 pm and Christmas items will be available in our charity shops from the end of November.
Christmas Bazaar
We are also holding a Christmas bazaar at Bunning Hall in Cosby on Saturday, 2nd December, 10 am to 1 pm. Here there will be bargains galore including toys, bric-a-brac, treats, cards and decorations.

Do you put out a stocking for your dog or treat your cat to a special Christmas dinner? Pet ownership makes Christmas even more special, and we love seeing Christmassy pictures of your furry friends.
