LAA's Family Fun Day and Dog Show is back!

LAA's Family Fun Day is Back!
We have good news! We're bringing back our Family Fun Day. This will be held at Pingles Pet Store, The Pingle, Ashby Road, Barwell, LE9 8HW on the afternoon of Saturday, 20th August 2022. The times are 11 am - 3 pm. You can find the venue here.

For dogs

Our dog show starts at 12 pm and visitors will be able to book their dogs in from 11 am. The dog show rounds are: best male dog, best female dog, golden oldie (8 and above) best puppy (1 year and under) waggiest tail, best rescue, most appealing eyes, best in show. The cost of entry into the dog show is £2.50 entry per round. Rosettes will be awarded to winners and runners up. Prizes will also be awarded. There will be some seating for spectators but folding chairs and picnic blankets are welcome too.

In addition to the show, we are hoping to arrange a demonstration from one of the UK's leading Flyball teams (did you know that Leicestershire currently has the fastest dog in the country?) Find out about this amazing sport.

Or, why not try your dog at agility? It doesn't matter whether they're experienced or not, most dogs love a game and, with bespoke agility equipment available and help on hand, your dog will have the chance to shine.

For humans

We already have plenty of exciting stalls booked in for visitors to browse. These include: jewellery, crafts, gifts and cards, cosmetics, a dog photographer, a dog portrait artist, children's books, a mini-waltzer, hook-a-duck, cakes and refreshments, savoury snacks, gelato, sweets, and children's games.

You do not need a dog to attend the event, there will be plenty to do and see and who doesn't like an old fashioned tombola?

The details

There will be a small entry fee into the event to raise money for our cats and dogs.

Pingles Pet Food/Natural World has been a big supporter of LAA over the last few years and we are grateful for their help. Holding the event at their bespoke K9 Kampus means that dogs are welcome and there is plenty of parking for everyone.  We are expecting a high footfall for this event. We know how much our local community has missed seeing us out and about at dog shows and the like.

We hope you will join us for a grand day out. You will be helping a local charity by contributing to much-needed funds and your support is very much appreciated.

Calling all local stallholders!

Do you sell craft items, bakes, skin care products or something else that you think will be of interest to pet-minded customers locally? We still have outside pitches available for stallholders. Please bring your own tables, chairs and a gazebo if you're outside. There's a small pitch fee, to raise funds for our animals, but after that, what you make is yours! Please note: due to the location, we can not include pet food suppliers, treat suppliers (animal) and pet accessories.

Please bring cash on the day. We have limited access to card readers.
