Runners we need you!

Leicester Animal Aid has an exciting opportunity for three keen runners to take part in the Virtual London Marathon on Sunday, 2nd October 2022. For anyone who doesn’t know how this works, it means that you run the marathon (26.2miles) on the same day as the mass event in London but in your own area and in your own time, perhaps even on a treadmill.

Maybe you have always wanted to do a marathon, or maybe you are a fitness enthusiast and have done them before. Whatever your running abilities are if you feel up to the challenge and would like to help raise much-needed funds for a great cause then we would love to hear from you. We have been allocated three spaces and will be offering these on a first-come-first-served basis. There is no minimum amount of fundraising required. We will help you reach out to supporters and maximise your fundraising.

If you would like to take part, then we will be able to provide you with a running vest, free entry to the virtual marathon and lots of moral support! We would also love you to come and visit us so that we can introduce you to some of our four-legged friends and take photos for your fundraising page. We know it takes time to prepare for running such a long way and training will need to start early on, so we are hoping to get these places allocated to some keen runners very soon.

You can find more information on the event by visiting https://www.tcslondonmarathon.com/the-event/virtual-marathon and can also find useful information such as training plans and tips.

All funds raised go towards helping our animals. Every year, we care for more than 400 dogs and cats who are lost, abandoned, neglected, unwanted or relinquished because their owners can no longer look after them. We rely on the generosity of people like you to keep our doors open to the hundreds of animals who need our help.

If you are up for the challenge of running the Virtual London Marathon then please email info@leicesteranimalaid.org.uk.
