Ho-ho-home for Christmas!

Diesel and Jackson, the animals featured in our Christmas appeal, have both had their Christmas wishes come true: they found their forever ho-ho-homes in plenty of time for Christmas and they're both properly settled and doing well!

Though it was a bittersweet moment when they left (both animals had been long-stays at the Centre and were much loved by staff) the team at LAA could not be happier that these loveable, deserving animals have found their forever families.

Of course, their new families are absolutely smitten. Below is an update on how this special pair made it ho-ho-home in time for Christmas.

Diesal's new mum says, "Diesal stood out to us as a bit of an outsider. He was not the usual pick for most people, maybe the reason he was with LAA for so long. However, this is what really drew us to him and all it took was one visit with him to understand his great personality and decide he was definitely the one for us. It is amazing that nobody else wanted this beautiful cat, but we are happy he is with us and that we can provide him with his 'furever' home.”

"Diesel is a great addition to our household! He provides us with a constant source of amusement, sometimes making me wonder who is looking after who here!  His new hobby is watching TV (his current favourite is medical dramas). He has settled in really well, almost from day one, coming up for cuddles and attention whenever possible. We were told when we adopted Diesal, that he is a very playful soul, and this is certainly true. The best way to describe him is like a toddler, full of energy and up to no good one minute, followed by him crashing and needing a long nap!"

Jackson’s new dad says, “We adopted Jackson at the end of October 2021 and he settled very smoothly into our home. He loves playing with his toys and going to the park to run around and play. He has discovered some new interests such as travelling in the car and meeting new dogs whilst out  - something he is definitely getting better at.

"His new favourite item would have to be his blanket which he loves being wrapped in which instantly puts him to sleep! Jackson is very good at meeting new people and everybody falls for his funny and affectionate nature. Every day he surprises us with his intelligence and we often liken his manner closer to a human! We feel so lucky to have found Jackson at Leicester Animal Aid and given the opportunity to adopt him, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect dog for us!”

LAA would like to say a huge thank you to all who have supported us this year. Without our community, we couldn’t keep saying yes to animals in need.
