Recycle for LAA

You can turn your unwanted items into cash to help dogs and cats in need.

Many of us have spent more time in our homes this year than we would normally, and for some this proved to be the perfect time to have a good clear out!

Before you load the car and head to the tip or put something you no longer want in the bin, do remember that ‘one person’s trash is another person’s treasure.’

There are lots of ways to turn your unwanted items into cash and help support the dogs and cats here at the Centre.  If you have any gold, silver, odd earrings, broken chains, costume jewellery, watches and banknotes (any country) you can recycle them through Recycling for Good Causes at no cost to you whilst raising money for us.  You can also send them stamps too, so no need to put them in the bin again! You can find out all the information you need here.

If you've had a wardrobe declutter, you can turn your pre-loved clothes into cash for us by donating them to Thrift +.  They accept good quality High Street and designer brands.  It's quick and simple to do and you can select us to receive the proceeds.  You can find out more info here.

Those foreign coins rattling around in a drawer can soon add up!  We sent off a pile of coins and notes that supporters had donated to us and received £126, which is enough to help feed three medium sized dogs for eight weeks.  You can drop in any unwanted foreign currency to us at the Centre and we’ll do the rest.

There are also online companies that will accept books, CDs, DVDs and games for cash.  At Ziffit.com, who are partnered with Virgin Money Giving.com, you can opt to donate the money straight to us.

If you’ve not got around to having a declutter, then now is the perfect time to do it and give the things you no longer need or want a new lease of life.  It’s good for you, charities and the environment!

Please note that we're unable to take donations of goods to sell in our charity shops at the moment.
