LAA's Pawsome Pet Show is a fun competition and an attempt to recoup some of the funds lost through cancelled events this spring and summer. There are categories/rounds for all pets too, not just cats and dogs.

What are the categories?  There are 10 rounds/categories. For some rounds, any pet can enter, not just cats and dogs. For rounds 9 and 10, you can enter even if you don't have a pet. You can enter your pet into as many rounds as you like; the more the merrier! The rounds are:

1.Best dog (male)   2.Best dog (female)   3.Best rescue pet (any animal)  4.Best golden oldie (for dogs over the age of 8 and cats over 16)  5.Best puppy (dogs under the age of 1 year)  6.Best male cat   7.Best female cat  8.Best trick (any animal, please upload short video up to 30 seconds)  9.Best animal den (make a den for any animal from things you have lying around the house  10.Best selfie prop (please use your imagination as above)

How do I enter my pet?  Just post a picture of your pet on Facebook under the Fundraiser Pawsome Pet Show. On Instagram you can enter by posting with the hashtag #pawsomepetshow  When you post on either platform, please tell us your pets name, age and the round(s) you want to enter. If you want to email your pet pic, you can send it to info@leicesteranimalaid.org.uk or you can enter by post as long as the picture reaches us before the closing date - again, please include a name, age and category.

Can I enter more than one round? Yes, don't be shy!

How much does it cost?  It's free. If you would like to make a voluntary donation, please click on the 'donate' button on our Facebook page, on Instagram or via the channels below. The donations will go towards veterinary treatments for animals on the medical foster scheme, of which we currently have 45. You can find out more about this scheme here. We have had to cancel many fundraising events that would raise income for the charity and we would really appreciate your support.

Any other rules? See below. Also,  to stand a chance of winning, please post a good, clear photo, showing a good likeness of your pet/prop and the details above. We ask that you please make sure your pet is comfortable with what you are doing if it involves a trick or a prop.

What about consent? Your posts will be visible to others so if there are people and/or children in the picture, please and ask their, or their parents' permission before posting.

I don't have a pet, can I still enter? YES! Rounds 9 and 10 are open to all. If you don't have a pet to 'model' your den or prop, you can use a soft toy, a human, an ornament (not an expensive one!) or whatever is to hand!

When is the closing date? Midnight on 13th June. We will let you know who has won the following week.

What are the prizes? The prizes are pet-related items donated by our kind sponsor, Pingles Pet Products/Natural World. There will be prizes for 1st and 2nd place in every category.

If you don't donate, can you still win? Yes! this is a fun competition and whether you donate or not will not affect the judges' decision.
