Special funding for Community Pet Support Scheme

Our Community Pet Support Scheme (CPSS) has been given a fantastic boost thanks to special funding from two organisations.

Our Scheme supports those that are vulnerable to care for their cherished pets in their own homes. Our Animal Care Assistants visit clients and provide tailored support to each one, which ultimately helps best friends stay together.

Like all charities, we are facing huge challenges, especially financial ones.  We applied for funding from Leicestershire and Rutland Community Foundation’s Coronavirus Support Fund (distributing funds for the National Emergencies Trust) and Leicestershire County Council’s Community Fund.

We are so grateful to both organisations for recognising the value in the scheme and providing funding towards CPSS staff costs.  This will ensure that through the Scheme, we are able to continue to support the most vulnerable in our community during the pandemic and ensure they don’t become further isolated.

The service is provided free of charge to our clients and we rely on donations and grants to help keep people and animals together.
