Coronavirus/COVID 19 Update

We would like to reassure you that we are working as normal and that, although we are taking sensible precautions, we are confident that we can adequately care for our animals.

Due to the current situation with Coronavirus, we have made the decision to close the Centre to the general public. The only exception is people who have a meeting due to their interest/reserve on a dog or cat, and that will be by appointment only. The rehoming team will ask all interested parties some questions prior to their visit. We will still be taking interests as normal and rehoming animals (by appointment).  We will not be accepting any new animals into the Centre for rehoming until further notice.

*Even though we are closed to the public, we will continue to sell retail cat and dog food to the public for the time being.  If you would like to buy some, we can bring the food to the main gates and either take cash or use our card machine to take your payment. Contactless payment is preferred. Please telephone the Centre when you are outside. Thanks.

We are postponing Coffee Shop & Sales and Mini-Markets in March, April and May. Pet first Aid for March and May is also cancelled and we will be in touch with participants to advise them of the next available date when we know. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused and we will keep you posted about these and other events.

We have asked all our  volunteers to refrain from attending the Centre. This is to protect volunteers and to protect our team. We are not currently recruiting volunteers. We will update you with any changes as and when they happen.

We are not currently accepting donations for our charity shops. If you wish to donate animal food and items for our animals, we will gratefully accept these. Please visit the Centre between 10am and 2:30pm. Our gates will be shut, so please bring you phone and telephone us when you are outside.

Currently we are still adding information onto our waiting lists but we can't accept any new animals into the Centre until further notice.

Our charity shop at 50D Blaby Road, South Wigston, LE18 4SD, is now closed.

There are still many ways that you can stay involved with LAA from Memberships to playing our lotteries or  treating our animals to something from our Amazon wish list. More information is available here.
