What is the National Free Wills Network?
The NFWN is a network of solicitors who work with charities, large and small, to enable people to write their Will for free. You can register your interest by completing the simple contact form linked below (red button) with your name and address. No financial information is necessary at this point. Then, the NFWN will send you an information pack with a choice of six solicitors nearby who will help you write your Will for free. If you choose to go ahead, you become a customer of your chosen solicitor, just like any other Will maker. The difference is that you will pay no fee. Here's how it works:

We have included some Frequently Asked Questions below to help supporters understand the service.
It is entirely up to you how you make your Will. Through the NFWN, you will be sent a choice of six solicitors near to you who are experienced with charities. When you have selected one, you make your Will in exactly the same way as any other customer. The only difference is that you pay no fee.
No. Your Will is your business but we hope that you will. L.A.A. pays to be part of the service, and pays a fee for each Will, so we ask you respectfully to consider this.
It's up to you. Having some idea of legacies help us plan for the future, so we would prefer to know. However, your name, and/or the amount you intend to leave, can be withheld from us if you prefer.
No. It’s important to make your Will in the way that suits you. Wording to take to a solicitor who you are already working with, or would like to, is available in the FAQs here. If you have already made a Will with another solicitor, there’s no need to swap to one in the Network.
No. Your arrangement is with the solicitor. L.A.A. will email you to say thank you and may let you know how your gift will make a difference, but only if you want us to. We never pressure anyone into giving money. You will receive a reminder (by email or post) from NFWN about the pack after 75 days and a further reminder, from them, if you have requested it.
Please click the red 'register your interest in the NFWN' button above. You can also phone us on 01455 888257 and we will complete the form for you by taking a few basic contact details over the phone. You will not have to give any details about money when you complete the form. Being referred doesn’t mean that you have to complete a Will, it just means that you will be sent a pack and a choice of solicitors. Whether you then take it forward is up to you.
Yes. You can request a phone appointment, an online meeting and, in some cases, a home visit can be arranged. In the pack, there will also be information about parking, disabled access, hearing loops, languages spoken, British Sign Language and dementia-friendly services.
Yes. We are paying a discretionary rate for each Will. This is why we respectfully ask you to consider leaving a gift if you are taking up the service.
Simple Wills can be written for free. For more complex Wills (you will be informed by the solicitor in this case) you may opt to pay for additional work.
Yes. But our entitlement is ample and we think that everyone who would like to be included can be.
