Would you know what to do if your dog or a dog close to you was injured while you were out walking? Those few minutes after an accident can make all the difference until you can get your dog to the Vets.
Run by Animal Aiders, the L.A.A. Dog First Aid course is a 3-hour session that is taught at our Centre here in Huncote. It covers everything you need to know about first aid for dogs, including practical sessions on bandaging and CPR.
The course offers:
- Up to date techniques taught by a Veterinary Professional
- High-quality replica dogs to practice bandaging on a 'resusci-dog' to practice canine CPR
- Comprehensive course booklet to take home
- Certificate of Attendance
The course aims to support the Kennel Club Accreditation Scheme for Instructors in Dog Training and Canine Behaviour (module A2 element vi). Delivered in an easily understandable style, the course is suitable for pet dog owners as well as those who work with dogs (groomers and walkers etc).
The Animal Aiders Dog First Aid Course and Booklet covers:
Basic health signs: wounds; burns; bleeding and shock; limbs; skin conditions; respiratory problems; resuscitation; stomach conditions; epilepsy; eye injuries. First aid situations: road traffic collision; electrocution; chemical poisoning; ingested poisoning; animal fight; drowning; heatstroke.
