Centre Wishlist

There are lots of items that we regularly need at the Centre, and donated items are really useful and help us to reduce costs.

We're operating slightly differently up until the end of 2020, if you have  items for our animals you can still drop them at the Centre, however our gates will only be open during our charity shop opening hours - 10am until 2pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and from 11am until 2pm each Thursday.  If you come outside of these times you can leave your donation at the gate and ring our reception on 01455 888 257 to let us know it's there. Unfortunately we don't have the capacity for collections, except from our in-store supermarket donation points, listed below. If you do not have transport, please consider purchasing items from our Amazon wishlist.

To help with cleaning

All kennels and cat pods are cleaned daily and all bowls and interactive food toys are washed and then sterilised. This is to help keep our dogs and cats happy and healthy and to prevent the spread of any illness around the Centre. All dog mess is cleaned straight away. This requires quite a lot of cleaning products and we really appreciate donations of:

  • Washing up liquid
  • Bleach
  • Sterilising tablets or liquid
  • Washing powder (bio and non bio)
  • Heavy duty bin bags
  • Dog poop bags

Comfort items

Arriving in rescue can be very stressful and confusing, so we do as much as we can to help settle our residents into Centre life and help them to feel calm, comforted and safe. Unfortunately we are unable to use pillows. We really appreciated donations of clean:

  • Dog and cat beds (soft and hard)
  • Blankets
  • Duvet covers
  • Duvets (no feather duvets please)
  • Sheets
  • Towels
  • Cooling mats and vests

Toys and playtime

You can help the dogs and cats to have fun and keep their minds active during their stay with us. You can watch a video to see more about enrichment at the Centre here. Our residents love to receive donations of:

  • Kongs
  • Tough toys
  • Interactive food toys
  • Cardboard cat scratchers
  • Cat toys
  • Paddling pools
  • Sandpits
  • Balls for ball pits

To wear

In the winter some of our dogs can feel the cold, especially our greyhounds and short haired dogs. To help reduce stress at the Centre, you will see our dogs wearing bandanas which are sprayed with Pet Remedy to help them to feel calm. Donations of collars, harnesses and leads are always appreciated to help make our residents feel special and to aid in walking the dogs. In the summer, cooling vest and mats really help our dogs to stay cool.

  • Dog jumpers
  • Dog bandanas (we spray calming spray onto these)
  • Nylon dog collars and padded greyhound collars
  • Dog harnesses
  • Dog leads (non-extending)
  • Cooling vests and cooling mats

Food and treats

We are very lucky to receive a large amount of donated food and due to illness or stress but there are many foods that we use regularly here at the Centre for meal times, training and interactive food toys. We regularly use pasta, rice and Chappie for those with poorly tummies and hot dogs and fish to fill food toys and for tracking games.

Our residents would really appreciate any of the following:

  • Tinned Chappie
  • Tinned meat in jelly  for dogs
  • Tinned or pouches of meat in jelly for cats
  • Hot dog sausages
  • Tinned sardines/mackerel
  • Tinned tuna
