We run an appointments system where interested parties are invited to meet a particular cat or dog where mutual compatibility has been agreed. Alternatively, visitors are welcome to look around on Wednesdays and Saturdays between 10am to 2pm to view dogs, and 11am to 2pm to view cats.

Poor Casper has been returned into our care after over a year. It took him a week or so to settle but has now settled nicely back into the cattery. He can be quite worried when he first gets to know you and a new environment, so he will need an understanding, new owner who is willing to give him the time and space he needs. Casper enjoys the home comforts of a snooze in a comfy bed. He does enjoy fuss during his down-time and would be a great companion to have on the sofa with you in an evening. Casper does enjoy to play, but these are only in short bursts. He could live with teenagers in a new home. Casper would be best as the only animal and would need indoor and outdoor access with a cat flap.
Cat care
Until a cat is settled into a new home it is essential that they are not let outside and as a general guide this would be about four weeks. However, this is dependent on the individual cat.
Whilst a cat is confined to indoors you can introduce new toys for them to play with and chase. Cat nip toys can be especially rewarding. A scratch post will hopefully discourage them from choosing your sofa to sharpen their claws! Regular grooming by you will help to cement the bond between cat and new owner and although cats are known to generally be more independent than a dog, they thrive on companionship and interactive play. Even adult cats can be persuaded to practice their stalking and pouncing skills on an old shoelace, or play hide and seek in a cardboard box.
