Meet our March stars

Published 11th March 2025

It's time to meet our pawsome winners of February's Star of the Month award.  This accolade celebrates and rewards staff and volunteers who have gone that extra mile, achieved something special, or have given outstanding service.

Staff Star of the month is Alex Stevenson, our Kennel and Cattery Manager. Alex joined the Charity ten years ago as a kennel assistant before moving to the role of Cattery supervisor and then to his current role in 2020.  Over the years Alex has been part of rehoming hundreds of cats and dogs into their forever homes, providing support, advice and guidance to adoptive families.  He always puts the teams’ needs first and is thoughtful and caring and remains calm in stressful situations.  He has a knack of knowing when staff need a ‘pick-me-up’ and can make them laugh when they need it!

Volunteer Star of the month is Lynda Symcox, who has been with the Charity for almost 25 years! She started off working weekends in the kennels and now gives her time to our charity shops.  You’ll find her sorting through donated goods and staffing the bric-a-brac stall in all weathers at our monthly coffee mornings. Lynda is always cheerful, positive and helpful.

Congratulations Alex and Lynda!
