August's Star of the Month awards

Published 13th August 2024

It’s time to meet our paw-some winners of L.A.A.’s August Star of the Month award. This accolade celebrates and rewards staff and volunteers who have gone that extra mile, achieved something special, or have given outstanding service.

Lauren Trapps is our Staff Star of the Month and is part of our award-winning Community Pet Support Scheme team.  Before taking up her role she had volunteered with L.A.A. as a dog walker.  Although her days are full, she always goes above and beyond, working extra hours and buddying up with new members of the team whilst they settle in.  Lauren says that her clients are very special to her, and she loves the dogs and cats that she works with like they are her own.  We know that Lauren’s clients adore her and her warm, caring attitude.  Well-done Lauren!

Jason Rawlings is our Volunteer Star of the Month and has volunteered for the Charity for an amazing 17 years!  He gives up his time on a Sunday morning as part of the dog walking team and he is loved by the whole team – past and present.  Jason is very patient and always puts the dogs’ needs first, taking time to know the more nervous dogs and gaining their trust.  He’s happy to help where needed and always has a smile on his face.  At the end of 2019, Jason adopted Gilbert from the Centre, and gave him the best retirement home he could have asked for.  Thank you Jason.
