L.A.A. is looking for new Trustees (February 2024). Annabel McDougall, one of our current Trustees, explains more about the role.
Charity Trustees jointly have overall control of the Charity and are responsible for ensuring that we uphold our objectives, comply with charity law and remain financially stable.
We are a small group of volunteers with a passion for animals and their welfare. We meet every six weeks or so at the Centre in Huncote to oversee the business of the Charity (and the associated trading company) and to set future aims and exciting initiatives with the support of our dedicated management team. The meetings are usually every six weeks or so and they take place in the evening, usually on a Thursday. In addition, Trustees can get involved, on site and off, with projects and events, all with the purpose of helping our animals’ futures.
I have been a trustee since 2005 and says and becoming a Trustee has been one of the most satisfying things I have done. Having had dog and cat companions throughout my life, giving something back in their memory to a cause I care about has given me so much pleasure.
We welcome enquiries from like-minded, enthusiastic people and whether you have a particular skill in accountancy, human resources, marketing or governance, or would just like to get involved we’d love to hear from you. It’s a wonderful way to make a real difference to the lives of the cats and dogs who rely on us for help.
If you would like to join us, please email a copy of your CV and a covering letter, saying why you are interested in the role, to info@leicesteranimalaid.org.uk
