Please note, we currently cannot accept bedding (May 2024).
To help with cleaning
All kennels and cat pods are cleaned daily and all bowls and interactive food toys are washed and then sterilised. All dog mess is disposed of straight away. As you can imagine, this requires a lot of cleaning products and we really appreciate donations of: washing up liquid; bleach; sterilising tablets or liquid;
washing powder (bio and non bio); heavy duty bin bags; dog poop bags.
To help settle our animals
Arriving in rescue can be stressful for animals. We do as much as we can to help settle our residents and help them to feel calm, comforted and safe. We usually appreciate donations of clean: dog and cat beds (soft and hard); blankets; duvet covers; sheets; towels. Occasionally we may say that we don't need bedding. We always accept Pet Remedy and calming products; cooling mats and vests.
Toys and playtime
We want our cats and dogs to have fun and stay active. Our residents love to receive donations of: Kongs; tough toys; interactive food toys; cardboard cat scratchers; cat toys; paddling pools; sandpits; balls for ball pits.
To wear
In the winter, some of our dogs can feel the cold, especially our greyhounds and short haired dogs. To help reduce stress at the Centre and keep animals looking dapper, we welcome donations of: harnesses and leads (non extending); cooling vest and mats; nylon dog collars; padded greyhound collars; knitted dog jumpers.
To eat
We are lucky to receive a large amount of donated food. Due to illness or stress, there are many foods that we use regularly here at the Centre for meal times, training and interactive food toys. We regularly use: tinned Chappie; tinned meat in jelly for dogs; tins or pouches of meat in jelly for cats; hot dog sausages; tinned sardines; tinned mackerel; tinned tuna; evening primrose oil (500mg); sandwich spread/pate (in jars); Dreamies cat treats; any brand of dog treats; manuka honey (the 10 + active kind).
General
In addition to animal-related items, we gratefully accept donations to our charity shops. You can find out what we sell here. We also gratefully accept items that can be raffled or used as prizes throughout the year. This could be unused toiletries/gift sets, bottles of drink, unopened chocolates or sweets, ornaments, books or anything else that is new and you think could be raffled or used in tombolas to raise funds.
