New charity shop opens it doors

We’re delighted to be able to report that our brand new charity shop, on Blaby Road South Wigston, is now open for business from Friday 13th September. This is the result of months of hard work by LAA staff and volunteers who have been cleaning, sorting and arranging around the clock.

The shop is our first foray into the high street and we have high hopes that it will attract passing customers, destination shoppers and anyone who is looking for a bargain, a warm welcome and the chance to help our cats and dogs. Like our on- site charity shop at LAA, the new shop will stock clothes, children’s toys, books, handbags, designer clothes, dog treats, shoes and clothes.  All proceeds will go the charity.

The shop will be open from Tuesday to Friday 10 am -4pm. On Saturdays, it will be open 10 am – 3pm. The precise location is 50D Blaby Road, just near to South Leicester College.

As ever, we are looking for volunteers to help in the shop on the days above. If you are interested in volunteering, please head over to the volunteering page on our website, located under the Get Involved tab. You can also complete an application form there.

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped us get the shop off the ground. It has been quite a journey.

We look forward to serving you!
