Fantastic Firewalking Fundraisers

More than £2,100 has been raised thanks to the incredible efforts of our fiesty fundraisers who braved the blaze and took part in our Halloween firewalk.

The event, which took place at Stanton Lakes, Stoney Stanton, saw supporters walk 20 feet over embers burning at an incredible 1236 degrees Fahrenheit – to put it into perspective aluminium melts at 1100 degrees Fahrenheit!

After completing a special seminar to ‘fire them up’ the eleven firewalkers completed the challenge cheered on by family and friends. Everyone who took part felt it had been a real achievement with ‘brilliant’, ‘amazing’ and ‘can I do it again?’ being used to sum up the experience.

The money raised will help us to continue to rescue and re-home lost, abandoned and relinquished dogs and cats. We rely totally on donations from our brilliant supporters to continue to help over 500 dogs and cats each year find their forever homes.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, BLAZE for looking after the fire and the walkers and to Stanton Lakes for hosting the event. If you consider yourself a trail-blazer why not take part next year?
