Aggregate volunteering team get the Centre ready for our Summer Bazaar!

A fantastic team of volunteers braved the weather on Thursday 8th June and helped to weed, tidy and help to get our field and rose garden ready for our Summer Bazaar and fun dog show on Saturday 17th June from 11am to 3pm.

Despite the rain, the team from Aggregate Industries got stuck in and helped to bring the field and rose garden back to life. Weeds and nettles were removed, forgotten benches were found and the field feels like it has doubled in size!

Not only does all of this hard work help to get us ready for our big summer events, it also helps to enhance our enrichment spaces. The field is used for off-lead exercise, giving our dogs a chance to run and play, as well as enjoy agility and to explore the smells of the rose garden.

We hugely appreciate the help of Corporate Volunteering Teams, particularly in the summer months, as our four and a half acre site takes a lot of managing and teams really help us to keep on top of gardening tasks, particularly in our exercise and enrichment areas.

The team had a chance to have a break and meet residents Boo Boo Bear and Florence Nightgale (and we think they were quite smitten!). They also received a tour of the Centre and an indoor space for tea breaks and to avoid the heaviest of the rain!
