A Special Story - Little Bear
Feature on a special dog recently homed
Hi, my name is Little Bear and this is my story.
I was taken into LAA in September last year because I’d lost my way home. I was very worried and frightened as I didn’t know anyone and there were lots of other dogs in kennels. My kennel was lovely and warm and I had a nice bed, good food and water. There was even nice, soothing classical music to listen to. Strangers would come and sit in my pen and talk to me and sing and after a while I wasn’t scared anymore. They would fuss me and love me and I would give them my paw. I had lots of toys and I was taught how to play. The staff say I’m very special as I’m a very small Rottweiler. They say I have a genetic disorder which means I won’t grow any bigger and it takes me a lot longer to learn new things and trust people. I still think I’m big and get frustrated if people treat me like a baby. I was invited to go on to the Paul O’Grady TV show in November and I met Paul, Buster and other dogs from rescue centres around the country. Everyone says I’m a real star but I’m just happy to have been loved and well looked after.
I now have my perfect home where I live with my new Mum, Dad and Nana. I have a huge garden to play in and spend most of my day with my Nana watching TV on the sofa. The staff all miss me very much but it’s ok because I will be visiting them for my holidays.
