A Special Story - Boomer and Freeway
These adorable pair are Mother (Boomer) and Son aged 10 and 8 years. They came to LAA in September 2006 due to a change in their owners circumstances. They love each other; sharing their bed, toys and even food. We naturally wanted to keep them together and this can be more difficult rehoming two dogs together. They found a new home in October of that year but they were returned in February 2007 for regularly messing overnight. We were all sad to see them back in kennels as they were so desperate for a chance to be loved in a new ‘forever’ home. One of their original owners had expressed an interest in taking both the dogs back if ever they were returned to the kennels so we were delighted that they would be going home again. Unfortunately within a matter of days they were back at the kennels through no fault of their own. The owner’s parents did not want the dogs after all. Poor Boomer and Freeway – I’m sure they didn’t understand what was happening but everyone at the kennels made sure that they had plenty of love and cuddles.
Happy Ending
We are all delighted that they will be going home again within the next couple of days to what we hope will be their ‘forever’ home. A lovely lady fell in love with them both and they her. She has been visiting them as often as possible over a period of a few weeks and she is excited and happy to be taking them home.
We wish all three a very happy and healthy life together.
November 2007.
