Fundraising Events 2005/06

We would like to thank everyone who raised money for us last year. Some who went that extra mile for the cause were:

Mr Cope of Burbage has raised £751.50 by participating in the Berlin Marathon last September.

Ali Watson (our Vet from Park Group)
She raised £2,030.00 in sponsorship and ran the Nottingham marathon

Dave Ringrose organised a motorbike run
On 4th September 2005, motorbikes gathered at the meeting point in Great Oxendon, Nr Market Harborough for the South Leics & North Northants of the Royal Enfield Owners Clubs Charity Run, which they had organised in support of the LAA Crisis Appeal.

The event was a great success! 34 bikes and two sidecars along with two 'riders' who had to leave their bikes behind and resort to cars to cope with the generous donations od supplies, participated in the gentle 23-mile ride through some of Leicestershire's most picturesque countryside to their destination at Huncote. Riders had traveled from four counties to join the event and various other clubs were represented: Vintage Motorcycle Club, Christian Motorcycle Association, British Two Stroke Club, Fosse Riders, Motorcycle Action Group and individuals.

On arrival at LAA riders were welcomed with tea and rock cakes, and donations of food and essentials were handed over, on top of that a whip round with the bucket collected a staggering £340.

The organiser wish to thank everyone (riders, family, friends, neighbours & colleagues) who so kindly and generously gave their support.
