About Shadow and Smokey

This adorable pair sadly came to LAA since their owners were no longer able to care for them. They are such a sweet couple, being very affectionate and loving to everyone they meet. Shadow is more confident than her brother Smokey, and is a true lap cat, always seeking out attention from her human friends. Smokey, although a little more nervous and timid than Shadow, also loves fuss and affection, but takes his time to adjust to new environments. As smokey is long-haired, anyone willing to adopt these guys would need to be comfortable giving him a helping hand keeping his coat nice and clean on a daily basis. Smokey and Shadow would need a home without any other pets and any children should be aged over the age of 10 and preferably have some experience living with cats in the past.

Cat Care

Until a cat is settled into a new home it is essential that they are not let outside and as a general guide this would be about four weeks. However, this is dependent on the individual cat.
Whilst a cat is confined to indoors you can introduce new toys for them to play with and chase. Cat nip toys can be especially rewarding. A scratch post will hopefully discourage them from choosing your sofa to sharpen their claws! Regular grooming by you will help to cement the bond between cat and new owner and although cats are known to generally be more independent than a dog, they thrive on companionship and interactive play. Even adult cats can be persuaded to practice their stalking and pouncing skills on an old shoelace, or play hide and seek in a cardboard box!
