About Simba

Handsome boy Simba sadly came to the centre as his previous owner could no longer care for him. He is a big boy with a very big heart who loves fuss and cuddles. Simba is a very clever boy who loves his food and lots of human interaction. He enjoys spending time in the big outdoors, so would need a nice quiet area that he can explore safely. However, he equally loves his home comforts so do make sure there is a Simba sized space on the sofa for when he comes in to warm up and have cuddles. Simba can get a little over the top when playing or having snuggles with his favourite human, but that is easily managed with a few positive training techniques using food and toys as a distraction, which the cattery team will happily explain and show any potential interests. Because of this, an experienced cat owner and a home without any young children under the age of 12 would be ideal for Simba. We are still assessing whether Simba would be happy to share his home with another feline friend, but we know he wouldn't take too kindly to a canine companion.

Cat Care

Until a cat is settled into a new home it is essential that they are not let outside and as a general guide this would be about four weeks. However, this is dependent on the individual cat.
Whilst a cat is confined to indoors you can introduce new toys for them to play with and chase. Cat nip toys can be especially rewarding. A scratch post will hopefully discourage them from choosing your sofa to sharpen their claws! Regular grooming by you will help to cement the bond between cat and new owner and although cats are known to generally be more independent than a dog, they thrive on companionship and interactive play. Even adult cats can be persuaded to practice their stalking and pouncing skills on an old shoelace, or play hide and seek in a cardboard box!
