Leicester and Leicestershire Animal Aid Assoc. are currently running a campaign to recruit volunteers that are interested in fundraising for the centre, which is based in Huncote, Leicestershire.
The current campaign is to encourage and recruit volunteers that would be interested in helping all of the cats and dogs that are at the centre waiting to find their new loving permanent homes.
There are many ways in which volunteers can get involved with the charity from holding events at their local pub such as quiz or race nights, having a garage or car boot sale, or raising sponsorship funds by participating in their favourite past time or sport.
Fundraising volunteers can also get involved in activities that Leicester Animal Aid organise, such as their collection days at supermarkets throughout the area, or fun days that they hold on site in Huncote. They are also looking for any one with transport who would be willing to collect any donated goods, such as food or bedding for the animals or clothing to sell in the shop.
Sarah Washington, fundraising manager commented “it can be great fun getting involved in fundraising, and it can really make a difference to all of the animals. We currently have some wonderful volunteers that hold events and raise money on a regular basis, but we really need some extra help to continue to raise the £32,000 a month required to run the centre.”
Leicester Animal Aid receives no government funding or lottery grants and depends entirely on the generosity of the local community, businesses and volunteers to continue to raise their much needed funds.
